    John's research interests primarily involve the study of digital/analog games and new media, especially in regard to user agency and expression through play. By focusing on all media as forms of facilitated experience, John hopes to strike a balance between literary and ludic approaches to digital literature in order to better understand the intricacies of all types of games. He also has a wealth of other interests, including film scholarship, genre studies, adaptation and remediation, postmodernity, the uncanny, and educational game design.
