Mark entered the MA program in 2017. His research and teaching interests include using queer theory to understand incoherencies inherent in connection. Through a twentieth-century American lens, he explores the effects of sex, gender, and desire on incoherencies spanning from ephemeral interaction to deep intimacy. He is also interested in queer theory’s creation of a new way of “being in the world,” and the American culture clash as a response to its emergence.
