Victor Hernández Jaime

Victor Hernández Jaime’s short stories have won the Taliesin Nexus MFA Scholarship and The Southwest Review’s Meyerson Prize in Fiction. Two years after leaving his home country of Mexico he became a student of the late Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel, who awarded him his national Essay Prize in Ethics. Victor’s writing has been called “Hardboiled and poetic. Deeply empathetic,” by Scott Blackwood in his judge-entry for The SW Review; “Hernández is especially good at capturing the moments of human connection that are fleeting but eternal ... the lyrical precision of Mr. Hernández language is often striking and enviable.” View his website.
