    Sue-jin is a first year PhD student whose research focuses on how magical realism is utilized in cultural and social identity formation in contemporary, postcolonial texts. In particular, she is interested in the characterization of trauma and mental illness within this context and how their manifestations are informed by race, class, and sexuality.
