Chris is a Ph.D. candidate on the film studies track. He is currently at work on his dissertation, which examines how documentary filmmakers have attempted to challenge and de-naturalize the ways in which we see, and think about, prisons and incarceration in both the domestic United States and in its military prisons operated under the War on Terror. His work has appeared in the film journal Jump Cut. He also teaches introductory courses on film, popular culture, and race.
