Raymond Carver Reading Series continues with poet C. Dale Young

The Raymond Carver Reading Series welcomes poet C. Dale Young on Wednesday, March 22. The reading starts at 5:30 p.m. in Gifford Auditorium with a Q&A beginning at 3:45 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Young practices medicine full time and teaches in the Warren Wilson College M.F.A. Program for Writers. He is the author of four collections of poetry: Day Underneath the Day (Northwestern University Press, 2001), The Second Person (Four Way Books, 2007), Torn (Four Way Books, 2011) and The Halo (Four Way Books, 2016). His linked collection of short stories, The Affliction, is forthcoming from Four Way Books in early 2018. Young is a recipient of fellowships from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, the National Endowment for the Arts, the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation. His poetry and short fiction have appeared in many anthologies and magazines, including American Poetry Review, Asian American Poetry, The Atlantic Monthly, The Best American Poetry, The Nation, The New Republic, Next Generation, The Paris Review, and POETRY.

The Raymond Carver Reading Series is supported by the College of Arts and Sciences, the Syracuse University Library Associates, Stephen King, the Dr. Scholl Foundation, the Lynn & David Pleet ’53 Fund for Creative Writing, the Richard Elman Visiting Writer Fund, the Friends of Creative Writing, Chris Tennyson, Jerome Cohen, Jane and Daniel Present, and the Interdisciplinary Fund for the Humanities from Leonard and Elise Elman.
